New Year, New Blog
To those taking the time reading this, thank you and welcome to my new blog! My name is Jackie Gutierrez and I am an aspiring Sports Journalist for Women's Soccer (In case you didn't notice).
This website is a space to display posts that cover the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL), the United States Women's National Team (USWNT), Interviews, news pieces, and a place of community.
Some of my goals for this new site includes interviewing 10 soccer players. The age, league, or skill is irrelevant in this case. The purpose of this is to be able to build my experience and connections as a writer to grow in this practice. So, if you happen to play soccer or know someone who does, I'm all in and that's just what the contact page is for!
My previous website USWNTtalk was my starting platform to gain experience, but with my only two supporters and viewers being my parents, I began to lose hope. Before I deleted that blog, I was recruited to VAVEL USA where I spent a year and a half documenting and learning more about Women's Soccer. Along the way, I've written for Urban Pitch and Prost Amerika and am expanding myself to this new website to be more interactive with my viewers as I do my best to provide the latest updates. My weekly goal is to write two times a week. I also attend Vanguard University in Costa Mesa, California and have the opportunity to write for my school.
I would greatly appreciate the support of having viewers receive updates to stay connected and up to date about the latest posts.
