McCall Zerboni suffers from broken elbow and will miss NWSL playoffs
Midfielder McCall Zerboni will miss the NWSL semifinals with the North Carolina Courage due to a broken left elbow. After participating with the USWNT for a two-game friendly against Chile in California, Zerboni broke her elbow in the first minute of the second match.
The match that she was injured in, was Zerboni’s second international start with the U.S. since being called up in October of 2017. The Courage midfielder is recorded as the oldest player to appear with the USWNT at 31-years-old.
She has seven caps with the U.S. and has appeared in 20 games with the Courage where she has scored three goals and has won 203 duels.
The Courage, who stand in first place with 57 points, are scheduled to host the Chicago Red Stars on Sunday, September 16 at 3 p.m. ET at WakeMed Soccer Field.
North Carolina will play one more regular season match against the Houston Dash this Saturday.
During this NWSL season, Zerboni stands in first place with 63 tackles won and is in second place with 70 interceptions.
